Larue Tactical Range Day 2011

We went out to Larue's Range day again this year. I think someone might have said 4,000 people were there. I think they should raise the price, and only sell 1,000 tickets. Anyway, here's James loading up an OBR for 250 yd shots at a Larue Sniper Target.

What makes it even cooler is that after you took a couple shots, they attached a Surefire Suppressor. Guess what--it's quieter afterwards! The dude that won this season's Top Shot was there too. Other folks were bothering him, so we didn't rap with him any. No day is complete without a stop at a dive bar on the way home.

Tailgating is on for South Carolina

Our annual football/tailgating trip is set for October 15 at the South Carolina game.  This year we are trying something a little different for our tailgating in that we will be renting a setup to save the hassles of Clay, Shay, Devin, and Brad hauling everything but the kitchen sink up to Starkville.

I waited around too late and couldn't get the basic tent setup, but that might work to our favor because now we ended up with a tailgating trailer.  I'm told this thing has a 50 inch LCD, a 55 inch LED, satellite, a Honda ultra quiet generator, infrared gas grill, air conditioner, tents, tables, chairs, etc.

The owner says he's almost positive he will be setting this up for us on the West side of Newell-Grissom.  We'll still need to figure out food, drink, etc as the game gets closer.  Donations to cover the cost will be gladly accepted.  Pass on the word to anyone you think may be interested in joining our party this year.  Contact me if you have questions or want additional info.

Deebo's Wedding Wrapup

Congratulations to Deebo. The trip to Birmingham was not kind to Nunnrey and me.

• I was supposed to fly out of Austin at the crack of dawn on Saturday connecting through Houston.  I missed my flight, and ended up going through Orlando.  Travel tip:  flights arriving/departing Orlando are full of other folks' screaming kids.
• Nunnrey, true to form, left his phone (and dignity) at some bar Saturday night.  I believe B-rad retrieved it and mailed it back to him.
• We had prearranged a cab to pick us up at 5:15am Sunday.  I slept straight through the alarms I had set on my phone, and was awoken at 5:20am by the hotel lobby letting us know our cab was waiting.  We grabbed our luggage and headed out dirty.  Here starts a disturbing trend (reference this).  Nunnrey made me ride up front with our cabby.  I don't know if the car's AC was out, or just not on, but it was kinda warm for a fella that had drank half the beer in Alabama the night before.  Anyway, the cabbie had a bunch of jokes queued up for me the entire ride to the airport.  I could have handled some silence.  At least he didn't poke me in the chest.
• On the positive side, the flights from Birmingham to Houston, and Houston to Austin & San Antonio were pretty sparse.  I guess nobody wants to wake up that early.
• I wasn't feeling quite right for the next couple of days.  I'm getting old.

Also, Deevo, there's been a change of plans. The wife and I responded that we weren't going to be able to make the wedding. While the womenfolk can't make it, Nunnrey and I bought tickets this morning and will be there. Please order extra booze.

Missed the hat trick

Kim and I found out today we are expecting a little girl in October. Looks like I missed the hat trick of 3 boys but at least she has some protection now. Looks like my new found duty is to make sure she doesn's end up on the pole. To quote Chris Rock, " I mean they don't grade fathers but if your daughter is a stripper, you f**ked up!!"

She weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 19.5 inches long.

We are all home now and everyone is doing great!

This one's for Talley

I seem to remember that Talley liked to mix his lemonade and kool-aide half and half at lunch and dinner at the house. I also seem to remember that he dubbed this drink the "Bloody Tampon" and while it never took off nationally like the Arnold Palmer, there was quite a big following at the Lambda house, but I reminisce. The real reason for this post is as follows:

Our neighborhood pool opened up about a week and a half ago and my wife and kids have been every day since. During one of their visits last week they met up with an neighbor who has kids the same age so the moms could talk and the kids could play. While my wife was in the pool with the kids, she questioned the neighbor as to why she wasn't getting in the water.

Her response was that she couldn't get in because she was having her period and that she had to start using pads because tampons now fall out... Why couldn't she just say that she didn't feel good? Why couldn't she say she was on her period and leave it at that? Why did she have to give the details?

I don't know if I will ever be able to look at this woman again. I am left wondering how something like this happens. Is her husband Mandingo? Maybe she is into fisting? The questions are endless.

I just hope that next time I see her I don't start laughing uncontrollably

While I find it funny as shit, I have a few concerns.

1. This was pulled off a porn site, so am I working with some sexual deviants? I mean, by showing this to everyone isn't he basically admitting that he is into this kind of thing?

2. I have to admit that there is a resemblance between me and Mr. Beefytits here, but it's clear that he is way more endowed in the chest area than I am and my double chin is nowhere near as big.

3. It scares me that I may be mistaken for some fat ass who gets his tits signed by Danica Patrick. I can't wait to be recongnized in public while walking down the street with my family.

So I was back at Austin's Park on Friday night (previously mentioned here). I put on a go kart clinic as usual. As I approached my truck on the way out, I saw a card stuck in the window.

I'm not complaining mind you, but are they thinking that parents are going to swing by Rick's and leave their kids in the car or something?

Recreation vs. Re-creation

It seems the boys have been busy at many things except keeping us updated via this blog.

James has been able to tell us about Golf Tourney's, Founders Day, and other random recreation activities but has neglected announcing his re-creation and pending fatherhood. Seems he has been having a little bit of at home recreation also. The same could be said of Jameson and the pending arrival of Anna Nicole Smith on the horizon.

In order to not follow in their footsteps, we have found out we are expecting another ginger baby to arrive sometime in October. I am registered at just about any mail order liquor store or donations can be made to the Daniel Plourde Castration Fund.

Congrats to everyone and it looks like I will be missing next football season road trips again.
