Update: 2nd Annual Backtoms Football Tailgate

As mentioned in April, some of us are planning on making it back for the Florida game on October 24. Here is what I know so far:
  • Shey and I have plane tickets arriving in Jackson on Thursday and leaving on Sunday. We are planning on staying in Philly to make some money to pay for the trip.
  • It's my understanding that hotel rooms have not been secured at this time. It is being worked on.
  • Single game tickets go on sale today for Bulldog Club members. I am planning on purchasing 8 tickets. If you would like in on those let me know. I doubt there will be a problem getting more, but I simply don't want to be stuck holding the bag on extra tickets.
Today is a good day to learn how to comment if you would like to sound off with your intent on attendance (and if you want one of the tickets I'm buying).

Shay and I will be there, but we have our own tickets. Let us know the plans and we will definitely be there for the tailgating.

I knew I could count on Clay.

Aight, I've got Section U Row 36 Seats 9 through 16.

Lisa and I will want a couple of those tickets. We will also be flying into Jackson on Thursday (around 4pm) and will be leaving from Jackson on Sunday (around 11am). So anyone wanting to potentially share a rental. I am game. We will most likely join the Walleys at the casino on thursday night.

And how stupid are airlines. Fly into memphis for $900 for two tickets, or continue on to Jackson for $500 for two tickets. hmmmm...no brainer.

JT, we get to Jackson at around 9:30 PM and leave Jackson on Sunday at 11:50 AM. So if that fits within your travel schedule we'll split a rental car.

Nunnrey said he's down for two tickets as well so that leaves two more out of my group. You guys chime in and we can get another batch of tickets while the getting is good.

Anyone else plan on making the trip without their better half? I'm entertaining the idea of going, but will most likely be making this trip by myself.

Luke claimed my last remaining tickets via phone tonight.

Michael, he's saying Kyle may want to come down too. So I'm betting Deebo will be solo as well since he can't close the deal. So let's get a count on the rest of you and buy some more tickets.

Also, Luke said they do have some rooms booked at a bed & breakfast in Starkville as an option in case something better doesn't work out. He'll get us the details soon.

You all have the worst timing on your trips. I would love to go, but unfortunately the Nascar Nationwide Series is in Memphis that weekend. Yes, I am a redneck... and a group of 8 of us have season tickets out there so... Anybody going to any other games?

What up dawgs? Goat here, I am trying to make some plans to be there this weekend. I just have to get the time off from work to get down there being that I work weekends. I would be solo-goat, no better-half so Mike and I can be each other's date I guess...wait, what?

James said...

Last I heard Michael was into the goat thing. Freaks.

Anybody got any word on Deebo or anyone else. Bill? Daniel? Les? Anybody?

On behalf of Deebo:

All, I will be there for the FL game. I will bring two 10x10 tents, tables, grills, etc. I've got two small habachi grills...it worked out last year, but if anyone driving has something better I'm all for that. Also, if anyone driving has extra tents bring those too. I have not graduated to a TV yet; however I'm workng on that in the near future. I'm thinking of setting up our tailgate next to Dorman Hall. It will be across the street from where our tailgate was during the Vandy game last year. There are plenty of Port-A-Potties in that area...which were much needed after everyone last year drink enough Firefly to kill several horses! Let me know what you all think about that spot because we will not actually be in The Junciton. I'm planning on being in Starkville that Friday afternoon. I will need some help securing our spot. I think if we set up next to Dorman instead of The Junction it will not be a mad dash like last year (James, Nunnrey, Luke, you all know what I'm talking about).

Devin

P.S. Gooky don't think I didn't see that comment on "closing the deal"! Hahaha

Kim and I are in... What do we need to do to get tickets? We also have a tailgate tent and will bring that as well.

James said...

Let's give it to Sunday'ish (to see who else chimes in) and we can count up how many tickets we need and make a group purchase.

Deebo....I believe that James had every intention of you reading that comment however you failed to respond to whether or not you were coming solo?? WTF? Anyway, I am not sure yet on my status. I may have to skip out on this trip.

My lady and I are kicking around the idea of Thanksgiving in Vegas and we are trying to acquire time off from work as we speak. Any update on this trip James?

You know that Nay-Nay and I will be there... we're down for whatever. I also had her try and track down some lodging so we won't get stuck at the University Inn again and here is what she came up with. You have to sign a contract for the season at all the good hotels, so those are out. She was however able to reserve The Carraigen House, a B&B (not sure where) that has 2 one bedroom apartments and 1 two bedroom apartment. The owners say it's ours unless someone wants to rent the place out for like a month or more, then she'll no longer honor our reservations. Along with Kyle, I am pretty sure that Craig and Alisha will come up for the game at least. Not sure if they'll stay becasue of the new baby. Debo also mentioned Brad will probably come, so that 2-3 more tickets.

Aight, gonna put in another order for 7 tickets today for: Kyle, Daniel, Kim, Brad, Devin, Craig and Alisa.

I emailed Windham, but don't have a number to contact him. If anyone else wants in let me know quick. And obviously I'll put in another order later as long as you can commit the money to me.

Here's what we have:
Section U Row 36 Seats 9 through 16
Section U Row 40 Seats 16 through 22

The tickets are $64 each.

James said...

I know some of you are anxious to settle up with me for your tickets. If you need my mailing address let me know and I'll email you directly.

Tickets are $64 each. I'm accepting donations as well.
