New Stadium Bling

MSU is getting a new HD video board according to MStateAthletics.com:

The $6.1 million true HD board, will span the roof of the Leo Seal M-Club Centre in the south end zone at Scott Field, and will be operational by October, 2008. When completed, the new board will measure 152 feet wide by 135 feet, 6 inches tall, with a main HD screen 111 feet wide by 47 feet high. It will be the largest true high definition board in the Southeastern Conference. The board will also contain two vertical HD displays and one horizontal scoreboard display.
We go to one bowl and now we can throw millions around like drunken sailors? I hope they are letting our recruits make it rain some too.

I was going to use this as my first excuse to post something on here but looks like James has less of a life than I do... the best part about this is that last week those wascally webels anounced that they had the "biggest true HD screen in the SEC"... the fact that State now will now have the biggest HD screen in the SEC (for the time being) in spite of how many cell phone calls and texts Nutt can make over the remainder of the summer is awsome.

I guess they couldn't stretch my $50 donation to get a bigger screen than Texas...

Everything is bigger in Texas.

Define bigger? Are we talking in terms of weight, mass, height, etc?

Based on the measurements the main screen will be 5217 sqft. This would rank as #2 per John's article, UT's is 7370 sqft, Neb's is 4012 sqft. If you add in the 3 additional screens we may be right up there with UT.

Let's think of it this way.

Darrell K. Royal holds 85,123 people. Comes out to around 80.4 sq cm/person.

Davis Wade holds 55,082, which gives us about 88 sq cm/person.

And if James and John are both at the game then that cuts it down to about 74 sq cm's for the rest of us...
